A local farmer’s and handicraft market to enrich your daily life!

Date: Saturday July 7th and Sunday July 8th, 2018
Market hours: 10:00–15:00
Place: At the auditorium and lecture room of the Sugimura Jun Museum of Art (Shiogama City), 30 minutes east of Sendai.

“Kurashi no Ichi” is a local farmer’s and handicraft market under the theme of “Enrich your daily life with wisdom and fresh ideas”.

You will find attractive food stands furnished by local stores, featuring locally-grown vegetables, tableware, woodworks, antique goods, handmade goods, plants and so on.

This event is sure to freshen and spice up your everyday life!

Admission is free but some workshops require an application and an entrance fee to join.
Please use the special parking space or public transport to come to the venue.

 


 

Workshops available on both days (July 7th and 8th)

“Let’s make a fabric elephant pochette!” by LAWN
*Price: 3,500 yen (including material cost)
*Times: 1) 10:00 – 12:00 or 2) 13:00 – 15:00 (Maximum of 4 people for each workshop). The workshop will take between 90 to 120 minutes.
*We recommend that you bring your own sewing kit, but we will also provide kits for use at no charge if you need.
*An advance reservation is required here. Please also choose the length of the bag strap and the fabric colour when you make your reservation.
*If you will join this workshop with other people, please apply online individually.

“Kintsugi” the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with gold workshop byet craft
*Price: 3,000 yen (without shipping charge)
*Times: 1) 10:00 – 12:00 or 2) 13:00 – 15:00
*An advance reservation is required here.
*Please bring your own broken ceramics to use for this workshop. Up to three pieces are preferred. Please note that excessively damaged ceramic pieces might not be suitable for repair.
*Repaired ceramics need to be dried for several weeks. Please pick them up at the museum, or we can send them to you (domestic delivery only). By delivery, shipping fee may vary depending on the size of the ceramic.

“Let’s make your own DIY-box with masking tapes!”
*No admission fee and you can join at any time.
*Please bring your empty box or you can also use the empty boxes we will prepare.

 

Workshops available on July 7th only

“Let’s make a dried lacquer brooch!” byFablab SENDAI-FLAT

1) “Mini brooch workshop”
*Price: 500 yen
*You can join at any time.

2) “Summer of Shiogama – Sea of Urato Islands brooch workshop”
*Price (admission for permanent collection and material cost): 1,500 yen
Museum member, Junior high school students and under: 1,300 yen
You can purchase extra parts for the brooch.
*Times: 1) 11:00 – 12:00 (last admission at 11:45) 2) 14:00 – 15:00 (last admission at 14:45) . Maximum capacity of 4 people for each workshop.

“Let’s make a botanical candle using summer leaves and flowers!” by Lamp of Hope
*Price: 1,000 yen (including material cost)
*You can join at any time but the last workshop starts 14:00.

“Let’s make a wooden top!” by Tenta no Okiniiri Omocha
*Price: 400 yen
*You can join at any time and children are also welcome to join.

 


 

Special events on both days (July 7th and 8th)

“CUP of COFFEE“ : Select and purchase your favorite coffee cup and enjoy freshly brewed coffee at Kurashi no Ichi! Featuring ceramic artists and shops such as Norikazu Oe, Koudai Ujiie, Kanako Kimura, Yuko Nemoto, mihoco sato ceramics, studio hokaw, S.H.O.K.K.I. and Natsumi Noda. Coffee cups vary in price from 1,500 yen including coffee.

“Bread Market” : featuring a variety of bakeries such as KOUB, Au fournil du bois, bagel & bread spica, Yama bagel and so on. Please check out the time schedule.
