Savour the night view of cherry blossoms in full bloom in Shiogama – towards Shiogama Shrine on Ichimoriyama hill and the cherry trees around the museum, enjoyed best with Japanese traditional confectioneries!
You are invited to learn about Jun Sugimura’s works from our museum staff who will be dressed in kimono for this special occasion.
We offer three kinds of confectioneries that you can purchase and enjoy at the museum salon or take home as a souvenir.

*Please note that the Japanese confectioneries are not included and there is a separate entrance fee for the permanent exhibition.
At the special exhibition room, you can enjoy the posters drawn by Jun Sugimura for the Hana Matsuri, which is one of the three important festivals of Shiogama Shrine and originated in 1778 to pray for protection of crops against flooding.
*The poster exhibition is held until April 15th (closed on Monday), from 10:00 until 17:00 (until 15:00 on April 15th) without admission.
Pop up shop : ”Buen Mosto” Wine Bar
Enjoy this spring night with art, wine and cocktails at the museum!
For one night on Friday April 13th, our museum will be open until 19:30. Pop-up bar organized by Chilean wine importer Buen Mosto (http://buen-mosto.com/) will appear on the 1st floor. We will not only serve wine, but we will also serve some spring cocktails made by bartender Shinsuke Ichinohe from the Nippon Bartenders Association.
