A local farmer’s and handicraft market to enrich your daily life!

Date: Saturday November 16th and Sunday November 17th, 2019
Market hours: 10:00–15:00
Place: At the auditorium and lecture room of the Sugimura Jun Museum of Art (Shiogama City), 30 minutes east of Sendai.

“Kurashi no Ichi” is a local farmer’s and handicraft market under the theme of “Enrich your daily life with wisdom and fresh ideas”.

You will find attractive food stands furnished by local stores, featuring locally-grown vegetables, tableware, woodworks, antique goods, handmade goods, plants and so on.

This event is sure to freshen and spice up your everyday life!

Admission is free but some workshops require an application and an entrance fee to join.
Please use the special parking space or public transport to come to the venue.
 



 

Workshops available on both days (November 16th and 17th)

 
“Let’s Make a Face Cookie!”
by Goma (food designer unit)

At this workshop, you can decorate a chocolate banana sandwich cookie with icing and chocolates to make a cute and funny face!
*Price: 1500 yen (including material cost and beverage)
*Times: Nov. 16th 13:00 – 14:30 / Nov. 17th 11:00 – 12:30
*Maximum of 25 people for each workshop. An advance reservation is required here.

 


 
“Let’s Experience Weaving!”

At the workshop, you can weave a 10-centimeter-wide square fabric.
*Price: 500 yen and you can join at any time.

 


 
“Make your own embroidery goods!”

*This workshop will take up to 40 minutes per session.

“Make-Your-Own Botanical Items”

At this workshop, you can either make your own botanical candle with autumn leaves with flowers or your own oil lamp with flowers!
*Price: 1600 yen for a botanical candle (including material cost) / 3200 yen for an oil lamp (including material cost and a bottle of oil)

“Make-Your-Own Shopping Bag”

At this workshop, you can make your own shopping bag using old event banners.

“Make-Your-Own Home Accessories from Wood”

This workshop will show you how to make two kinds of items from wood such as candle holders and chopsticks.
*Price: 1200 yen for chopsticks / 1000 to 1500 yen for a candle holder
*Time: 10:00- / 11:00- / 12:00- / 13:00- / 14:00-
*This workshop will take about 50 minutes.
*Maximum of 4 people for each session (Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult). An advance reservation is required here.
*Please either bring your apron or clothes that you would not mind having them become dirty.
