本プログラム11回目の今回は、公募により選考された版画家・あるがあく、アーティスト・松田ハルをご紹介します。

　松田ハルは3DCG（3次元コンピュータグラフィックス）やVR（バーチャルリアリティ）などの技術を用いた作品を制作しています。テクノロジーを駆使した新たな鑑賞体験を創出しながら、「物質と非物質」「現実とフィクション」といった二項対立的なテーマを思考し、複製メディアの歴史を問い直しています。
　岩手県陸前高田市出身の松田は、東日本大震災の発生から10年以上を経た故郷の海岸で目にした様々な漂着物が、町や生活の断片であり、見えない過去を想起させる存在に変わっていると感じました。本展ではこの経験と、陸前高田の地で生きてきた自身の先祖の歴史をふまえ、塩竈から陸前高田までの海岸線を辿り、採取した漂着物の欠片を起点に平面、映像作品等の新作を発表します。「現実と記憶、欠落と想像」の間に漂う時間を可視化し、漂着物の断片から土地の記憶を再構成することを試みます。現実と仮想現実、過去と現在を行き来しながら、土地の履歴や人々の歩みに新たな思いを寄せる機会になることを願っています。

Returning for its 11th year, the Shiogama Sugimura Jun Museum of Art presents Voyage, our annual program dedicated to supporting upcoming contemporary artists with connections to Japan’s Tohoku region. For 2026, Voyage is delighted to showcase two unique selected artists: woodblock printmaker ARUGA Aku and artist MATSUDA Hal.
MATSUDA creates artworks using technologies such as three-dimensional computer graphics (3DCG) and virtual reality (VR). While creating innovative viewing experiences through technology, he explores contrasting themes that straddle between what we perceive is real and tangible versus what is fictional and immaterial, questioning the very theory of media reproduction.
Born in Rikuzentakata City in Iwate Prefecture, JAPAN, Matsuda returned to his hometown more than a decade after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011. Observing various pieces of flotsam washed ashore, he realized that the fragments of the town and daily life had transformed into vessels that evoke a past that is unseen.
Drawing from this experience and the history of his ancestors who lived here, MATSUDA has journeyed between his hometown, all the way into Shiogama city to match the idea of “tracing”, using the fragments of washed-up debris he gathered and exhibited along the way as his guide. For this exhibition, he will present new works, which include two-dimensional pieces and video installations.
Moving between the real and the virtual, the past and the present, MATSUDA attempts to visualize what is real and present as opposed to what is imaginative and absent, reconstructing the memory of the land that people who once lived through these fragments of floatsam. We hope this exhibition serves as a chance to have a renewed reflection and understanding on the land’s history and the narratives (journeys) of its people.

若手アーティスト支援プログラム「Voyage」は、これからの活躍が期待される若手アーティストの可能性に光をあて、新たなステップを提供することを目的に、展覧会を中心としてトークやワークショップなど多様な表現の機会を設ける事業です。これまで、多くの人々にとって新たな才能や感性と出会える場となるよう毎年度ごとに異なる作家と共に取り組んできました。展示制作にかかる費用の一部のほか、企画や広報などに関する支援を通して、地元にゆかりのある若手アーティストの意欲的な表現活動をサポートし、発表の場を提供します。今年度の特別審査員は、小田原のどか氏（彫刻家・評論家・出版社代表）、鹿野 護氏（デザイナー・東北芸術工科大学教授）、服部浩之氏（キュレーター・国際芸術センター青森館長）です。

松田ハル（まつだ はる／MATSUDA Hal）
アーティスト。1998年岩手県出身。2021年筑波大学芸術専門学群美術専攻版画領域卒業。2023年京都芸術大学大学院グローバル・ゼミ修了。VRで描いた3Dオブジェクトを版画として定着させ、リアルとバーチャル、Alと人間といった境界を平面へと変換する。また、シルクスクリーン印刷や彫像へのドローイングによって、現実空間にイメージを表出する。進化する技術により拡張された想像力と、変わらない身体との乖離を見つめながら、複製メディアの歴史を遡る。
Artist. Born in 1998 in Iwate Prefecture. He graduated from the University of Tsukuba in 2021, majoring in Printmaking within the School of Art and Design, and completed his master’s degree in the Global Seminar Program at Kyoto University of the Arts Graduate School in 2023. Matsuda translates 3D objects drawn in VR into physical prints, converting the boundaries between the dualities of both what is reality and computer-generated, into two-dimensional surfaces. He also manifests images in physical spaces through screen printing and drawings on sculptures. Looking at the divergence between our unchanging physical bodies and the imagination expanded by evolving technology, his works trace back to the history of media reproduction.

記憶と想像のはざまを３DCGの技法で現実化する松田の作品は魅力的であり、歴史が入り混じる場所として海を捉えることで発想された展示プランは、海での拾得物を主題のひとつとし、この拾得物を記憶と想像の断片として提示するという説得的な内容であった。この提案の核心にあるのが、2011年の東日本大震災である。3.11から15年が経った2026年に被災地であった塩竈の地で開催する展覧会としての社会的意義とともに、公的な記憶と私的な記憶のあわいを松田だからこそ実現できる表現によって作品化し、これを公立美術館という機能を介して展開させる可能性に大いに期待し、評価した。

鹿野 護（デザイナー・東北芸術工科大学教授）

震災は我々から多くのものを奪った。しかしその欠落こそが物語れる歴史があり、それは観客の心の中、想像力にあるという。彼の作品は、その想像の起点を海岸に流れ着いた小さな「かけら」に見出している。失われた生活の痕跡は、断片として集められ、デジタル技術によって再び形を与えられ、版画という物質的な表現へと変換される。テクノロジーを横断するこの表現は、私たちがまだ読んだことのない新しい物語を立ち上げるための方法だ。今回の個展制作では、3DスキャンやVRモデリングなど様々なメディア技術が用いられる。だからこそ、言葉だけでは語りきれず、モノだけからも読み取れない、幾層にも重なった豊かな物語が浮かび上がってくるはずである。

服部浩之（キュレーター・国際芸術センター青森館長）

松田はVR空間で絵を描きそれを版画技法を用いて定着するバーチャルな場と現実のマテリアルを往来する作家だ。そんな松田は陸前高田に生まれ少年時代に震災を経験し、海辺に流れ着く漂着物に関心を寄せる。近年は、長いあいだ海を漂い角がとれて丸くなった建材や陶片、タイルのような震災の記憶を留めるものが東北沿岸に多数打ち寄せられており、松田はそれらを集めているという。これら角がとれた破片は柔和で色彩に富み美しいものだが、かつてあった災禍と生活を伝えるもので、物質としてもリアルな存在感を備える。仮想空間を積極的に漂い制作を続けてきた松田が一体どのようにこのような歴史と記憶を備えた物質たちを扱うのか簡単には想像ができず、その実現をぜひ実見したいと強く惹かれた。
